- My weight loss journey so far.
Monday 26th of December 2011 11:37:24 PMI am 28 y/o and 5ft 11in. I weighed myself in August and I had finally crossed the 300lb mark (305lbs at 5ft 11in) for the first time in my life. I had flirted with that weight for several years, but never crossed it to my knowledge. But, I never was a fan of weighing [...] - The 300 million dollar button – UI design

- If you stay on track, the motivation will come in natural forms. My little story.submitted by HeyZuesHChrist to loseit
I was hesitant to post my story here, because my journey isn't finished, and I've only lost a small fraction of what some other people here have done. The reason I'm posting is because something happened today that hasn't ever happened.
I'm 31 years old, 5'8'' and back in February I was 230 lbs. I weighed in yesterday at 199 lbs. That's 31lbs lost for those doing the math. This was a very important milestone for me, because I weighed in under 200 lbs. When I was a kid I was in very good shape until I was about 16-17 years old. From that point I started to gain weight. I wasn't huge or anything in high school, but a little chub, but still an athletic build. By the time I was out of college I was about 190 lbs. Still, this wasn't the worst thing, but I didn't look athletic anymore. Over the years I've gained and lost weight, but I've never lost this much weight. I lost 17 lbs at one point years ago and weight 187, but I still didn't look as good as I do today at 199. I have a pretty naturally athletic build, so if I work out and lose weight it starts to show again.
Anyway, a few weeks ago my friends who didn't know I was trying to lose weight started noticing. I didn't say anything to anybody at first. I started to get questions from my friends and then compliments on how I looked. Pretty soon, it seemed like everybody was telling me I looked great and had lost weight. This was incredible motivation to stay on track.
However, nobody at work seemed to notice. I'm OK with that because I don't really talk to anybody at work to begin with. I work at two offices and nobody at either office has said anything. Now, it doesn't help that I haven't bought any new clothes yet because I'm not done losing weight. But, my waist has dropped four inches and my upper body is completely different. My face is also very different. So, my clothes have been baggier than they should be. Well today, a guy walked by my desk, turned around and came back to tell me I look thin and asked if I've lost a lot of weight, despite not wearing clothes that really fit me.
I'm not going to post picture because I'm not satisfied with how I look. I also chose to post under this new account I'm starting in order to keep some things separate. Maybe when my weight loss journey is over and I move on to a maintain plan, I might post pics. I still have at least 25 lbs to lose, although some friends don't think I should go that far.
If you want to know what I've done, I diet and exercise. I ride a bike at a gym, which is one of the reasons I look better now at 199 lbs than I did at 187. My legs and ass have completely changed, which has allowed me to wear size 34 jeans again.
tl;dr - If you keep on track other people will give you all the motivation you need to keep it up.
